With a decade in the restaurant industry, Emily has honed her expertise and palate. In 2022, she proudly achieved Certified Sommelier status through CAPS, and will be delving further into the world of wines with WSET Level 2 and 3 in 2024. Simultaneously, she immersed herself in the intricacies of sake, earning distinctions as a Certified Sake Sommelier and completing WSET Level 3 in Sake.
Having spearheaded the first sake program in Atlantic Canada at her restaurant, Emily has been at the forefront of sharing knowledge and love for sake as a category. She's hosted numerous events, passionately educating enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. Her passion for hospitality extends beyond the dining table—she now serves as the Employee Learning Specialist at the NSLC, responsible for creating educational opportunities for retail staff. Beyond the world of spirits and education, Emily is an outdoor enthusiast—surfing, mountain biking, running, skiing—embracing adventure at every turn. Intrigued by the art of sake-making, her next trip will take her to Japan, where she plans to immerse herself in hands-on learning. Emily's journey is a tapestry woven with a decade of culinary experiences, a dedication to sake education, and an unquenchable thirst for exploration.
