PEI LCC Opens New Specialty Store

Vines at Oak Tree

The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission is proud to offer a new venue for wine lovers with its “store within a store” concept at the Oak Tree Liquor Store, the commission’s flagship store located in the centre of Charlottetown just off University Avenue.

This new venue, to be known as Vines at Oak Tree, was created to offer more choice for wine consumers who continue to pursue wines from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Portugal and Spain whose wines offer great value for the money. In addition to these, there are unique and trendy wines from traditional players like Australia, Italy, France, United States, New Zealand, South Africa and, of course, our own Canadian wines which also have a strong following.

Consumers should understand that the Vines at Oak Tree will only carry small case lots of selected wines. In many instances, the commission has been allocated a limited number of cases of wine and once gone, there is no more until the next vintage.

Unlike many spirits whose access is virtually unlimited, wine is unique in that weather and mother nature often dictate the size of the grape crop and, hence, the volume of the wine eventually to the marketplace. Keep this in mind when you shop for wine, especially at the Vines at Oak Tree where quantities are limited.
